
Friday's roundup: Dybeck's 3rd TD keys Jacobs' victory in 3 OTsMOLINE – Adam Dybeck’s third touchdown and Collin Carter’s extra point gave Jacobs a 31-30 victory over Moline in three overtimes Friday night. Dybeck scored from a yard out and Carter, who nailed a crucial 32-yard field goal in the second overtime, made it 31-24. Moline’s Josh Anders scored on a 1-yard run, but kicker Anthony Diaz missed the extra point wide right and the Golden Eagles had a non-conference victory in their season opener. Alden-Hebron 34, Beloit Turner 20: At Beloit, Wis., Sam Madsen totaled 139 of the Giants’ 227 rushing yards, including a first-quarter touchdown run, to lead the Giants in their season opening win. Oregon 33, Richmond-Burton 14: At Richmond, quarterback Adam Pittser connected with Harrison Daniels for a 33-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter of R-B’s season opener. Mike Anderson added a second-quarter touchdown on a 1-yard run, but the Rockets didn’t score in the second half. Lakes 21, Grayslake North 13: At Grayslake, Glenn Mizowek totaled 111 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries in the Knights’ non-conference loss. Chicago Christian 53, Marengo 31: At Palos Heights, the Indians opened their football season in a non-conference loss that increased the team’s winless streak to 29 games. St. Edward 15, Hampshire 7: The Whip-Purs opened the season and their new football stadium with a non-conference loss. Antioch 37, Grayslake Central 21: At Grayslake, the Rams led, 21-17, closing in on halftime, but allowed 20 unanswered points through the second half in their non-conference season opener. Boys Soccer Auburn Tournament: At Rockford, Marian Central went 2-0 in the first day of the 20 team tournament with wins against Rochelle, 1-0, and Dixon, 2-0. Alec Grazier had a goal and an assist, and Nolan Picchiettie totaled eight saves for the Hurricanes (3-0). In other tournament play, Woodstock went 1-0-1 with a 4-0 win against Geneseo. Christian Harvey had a pair of goals in the win for the Blue Streaks (1-1-1). Woodstock’s second game ended in a scoreless tie with Rockford Christian. Colin Smith Invitational: At Stillman Valley, Marengo lost 1-0 against Byron in the opening day of the eight team tournament. Antioch 1, Grayslake Central 0: At Antioch, the Rams (0-1) lost in non-conference play. Boys Golf Antioch Quadrangular: At Antioch Golf Club, Cam Owen shot a 12-over-par 47 in a fourth-place finish for Richmond-Burton. Zion-Benton won the meet with 159 points. Girls Golf Prairie Ridge 195, Huntley 259: At Prairie Isle Golf Club in Prairie Grove, Allison Holly shot a 7-over 43 earning medalist honors and helping the Wolves to an FVC win.
