
CL Central boys winCRYSTAL LAKE – The Crystal Lake Central boys basketball team got its third win of the season by defeating Woodstock, 53-49, on Tuesday night in a Fox Valley Conference crossover. The Tigers (3-11) were led by junior guard/forward Mike Fior, who scored 12 points in his first game back from a broken wrist. Seniors Connor Buxton and Will Streit each chipped in with 10 points for Central. The Blue Streaks (2-9) were led by seniors Nate Burns with 13 points and Derek Brown with 11 points. Dundee-Crown 62, Johnsburg 52: At Johnsburg, senior guard Jeff Beck led all players with 26 points, and the Chargers (8-3) defeated the Skyhawks in FVC crossover action. Junior center C.J. Fiedorowicz led Johnsburg (9-5) with 19 points. McHenry 58, Grayslake North 47: At Grayslake, senior forward Chris Madsen scored 15 points, and the Warriors (6-5) beat the Knights in an FVC crossover game. Grant Henricksen scored 10 for Grayslake North (6-6). CL South 44, Grayslake Central 40 (OT): At Grayslake, senior guard Adam Olszewski scored 15 points, and the Gators (7-6) defeated the Rams (8-6) in an FVC crossover. Grayslake Central was led by senior Michael Brumm’s 12 points. Burlington Central 47, Marengo 42: At Marengo, Adam Hart scored 18 points as the Indians (0-12, 0-1) lost to the Rockets in the Big Northern Conference East Division opener for both teams. Richmond-Burton 43, North Boone 22: At Richmond, the Rockets (6-7, 1-0) defeated the Vikings in BNC East action and were led by seniors Matt Clary and Chad Blanton, who each scored nine points. GIRLS BASKETBALL CL Central 42, Harvard 22: At Harvard, senior center Sam Johnson scored 17 points to lead the Tigers (7-8) in their non-conference victory against the Hornets. Junior forward Emily Scott scored 12 points to lead Harvard (4-11). Hinckley Big-Rock 58, Hampshire 52: At Hinckley, senior guard Christine Schumacher scored 16 points as the Whip-Purs (11-3) lost to the Royals in non-conference action.
