Harvard wins own track quadrangular

HARVARD – Miguel Flores swept the shot put (40 feet, 91⁄2 inches) and discus (142-0) events for Harvard’s track team as it won its own quadrangular meet Tuesday with 104 points.

Also winning multiple events for the Hornets were Cody Kramer in the 100 meters (11.12 seconds), 200 meters (23.37 seconds) and triple jump (36-11⁄2).

Marian Central (76 points) took second and was led by first-place finishes by Adam Olson in the high jump (5-8) and Mike Olenick in the 100 high hurdles (16.50 seconds).

Dillion Lalor’s win in the long jump (17-51⁄2) led Alden-Hebron (55 points) to a third-place finish. Stillman Valley placed fourth with 32 points.

BASEBALL

CL Central 8, Woodstock 0: At Crystal Lake, Will Streit earned his first win by not giving up a hit in 12⁄3 innings and striking out one for the Tigers (10-8) in their Fox Valley Conference crossover win against Woodstock (11-7).

North Boone 4, Marengo 1: At Poplar Grove, Jake Darlington led Marengo (2-15 overall, 0-3 Big Northern Conference East Division) in a BNC East loss to the Vikings with a double and RBI.

TENNIS

CL South 5, Jacobs 2: At Crystal Lake, Cam Laktash won his
No. 1 singles match, 6-2, 6-0, for Crystal Lake South, as the Gators (10-1, 7-0) stayed undefeated in the FVC.

Johnsburg 5, Woodstock 2: At Woodstock, Johnsburg’s John Frantz and Chris Goulet won their No. 1 doubles match for Johnsburg, 6-2, 6-4, as it beat Woodstock (5-7, 1-6) in FVC play.

CL Central 4, McHenry 3: At McHenry, Tommy Nelson won at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-3, and the Tigers won in FVC play. Brandon Semel won his match at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-3, for McHenry (5-4, 3-4).

Prairie Ridge 6, Cary-Grove 1: At Crystal Lake, Mitch MacArthur and Matt Miller won their match at No. 1 doubles, 6-1, 6-0, and the Wolves (10-2, 7-0) won to remain undefeated in FVC play. Pawel Latawieck and Andy Siles won at No. 3 doubles for C-G.

Huntley 4, Grayslake North 3: At Huntley, Mike Habrat and McKenzie Roeser won at No. 2 doubles, 6-0, 6-2, in an FVC win for the Red Raiders.

Grayslake Central 6, Dundee-Crown 1: At Grayslake, Tony Loch and Evan Spangenbero won at No. 1 doubles for the Chargers’ lone win in FVC action.

Marian Central 5, St. Edward 0: At Woodstock, Conor Moon won at No. 1 singles, 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5), and the Hurricanes swept the Green Wave in Suburban Catholic Conference action.
