


Johnsburg boys golf sends message with Byron victoryBYRON – Johnsburg’s boys golf team hopes to be one of the bigger surprises in the Fox Valley Conference this season. Saturday at the Byron Shootout, the Skyhawks tried to send a message to the area, winning the six-team Byron Shootout by one stroke over Lena-Winslow at Prairieview. Jake Arden shot an 11-over-par 83 to finish fourth individually to lead Johnsburg (339), and Tyler Chambers shot an 84 to finish fifth. St. Pat’s Invitational: At McHenry Country Club, Luke Waggoner shot a 5-over 76 to win the tournament and lead Marian Central (321) to victory in the four-team event. Willy Stastny shot a 78 to lead McHenry (332), which finished third. GIRLS GOLF Rock Falls Invitational: At Rock River in Rock Falls, Maria Tamburrino shot a 106 to lead Jacobs (491) to a 15th-place finish in the 19-team event.
