The Wolves (5-5, 5-0 FVC Valley) and the Skyhawks (4-3, 4-1) entered the game undefeated in division play. “This was not a good game for us, despite the win,” Wolves coach David O’Leary said. “We missed several easy chances to score in the first half that would have changed the game completely. “We were very fortunate to come away with a win, and beating them the second round on their home field will be a challenge.” CL Central 10, Woodstock North 1: At Woodstock, Cam Cooper scored two goals for the Tigers (7-4-1, 3-2) in an FVC Fox win. Jose Albarran scored the lone goal for North (0-9, 0-5). Huntley 2, Dundee-Crown 0: At Huntley, the Red Raiders (4-4-2, 2-1-0) were led by Javier Diaz’s two goals in their FVC Valley win. Richmond-Burton 3, North Boone 1: At Richmond, the Rockets (3-7, 1-2) defeated the Vikings in Big Northern Conference East Division action. Harvard 0, Burlington Central 0: At Burlington, Chase Blazier made five saves in goal for the Hornets (7-2-1, 2-0-1), who tied the Rockets in BNC East play.
Jacobs 145, CL Central 154: At Turnberry in Lakewood, Jacobs (5-1, 5-1) defeated Crystal Lake Central (5-2, 5-2) in Fox Valley Conference play behind Scott Cahill’s 3-under-par 33. Central was led by Riley Bauman’s 37. Prairie Ridge 153, CL South 156: At Prairie Isle in Prairie Grove, Brad Hyland earned medalist honors with an even-par 36 to lead the Wolves (5-1, 5-1) to an FVC win against the Gators (4-1, 4-1). Nick Robles and Scottie Stalo each shot a 38 to lead the Gators. Johnsburg 155, Dundee-Crown 156: At Bonnie Dundee in Carpentersville, Jake Arden shot a 3-over 37 to help the Skyhawks (1-5, 1-5) edge D-C in an FVC matchup. D-C was led by Jarrett Wollenberg’s 38. Wheaton Academy 145, Marian Central 159: At Pheasant Run in St. Charles, Luke Waggoner shot a 2-over-par 38 as the Hurricanes (8-2) lost to the Warriors.
Burlington Central Quad: At Burnridge Forest Preserve in Burlington, Richmond-Burton’s Ian Sanchez led all runners with a time of 13:07, and the Rockets took third place with 48 points.
