


Second-half goals lead PR to victoryCRYSTAL LAKE – The Prairie Ridge boys soccer team overcame a 2-1 halftime deficit Tuesday by scoring four second-half goals to defeat Woodstock, 5-3, and remain perfect in the Fox Valley Conference Fox Division. Alex Walker, Taylor Bennett, A.J. Sturm and Gio Miranda scored for the Wolves (7-5-3 overall, 7-0 FVC Fox). Christian Harvey scored two goals in the first half for the Blue Streaks (4-9, 2-4). “You have to give Woodstock a lot of credit,” Wolves coach David O’Leary said. “They came over here to win the game, and they did everything they could to do that.” Grayslake North 4, Woodstock North 0: At Woodstock, Justin Kruczek and Marcos Campos combined to make 16 saves for the Thunder (0-10, 0-5) in their FVC Fox loss to the Knights (3-9, 2-4). Johnsburg 2, Grayslake Central 1: At Grayslake, Mike Dombrowski scored a goal in an FVC Fox win for the Skyhawks (6-4-1, 6-1) against the Rams (2-9, 1-4). Harvard 2, Richmond-Burton 0: At Harvard, Alberto Martinez and Ivan Pichardo each scored goals in a Big Northern Conference East Division win for the Hornets (8-2-1, 3-0-1) against the Rockets (3-9, 1-4). Burlington Central 2, Hampshire 1: At Burlington, Ismael Morales scored the lone goal for the Whip-Purs (6-5-1, 2-2) in their BNC East loss to the Rockets. Marian Central 10, Montini 0: At Woodstock, the Hurricanes got two goals from Trevor Diedrich in a Suburban Christian Conference win for Marian (13-1, 3-0).
CL Central 148, Prairie Ridge 148 (CL Central wins tiebreaker): At Prairie Isle in Prairie Grove, Calen Murphy’s 3-over-par 39 turned out to be the difference as the Tigers beat the Wolves on the fifth-golfer tiebreaker in FVC action. Joe Ungari and Robinson Logue each shot 1-under-par 35 to earn co-medalist honors for Prairie Ridge (7-3, 7-3 FVC). Riley Bauman and Joe Kallenbach each shot a 36 for Central (6-3, 6-3). Grayslake North 157, Woodstock 166: At Renwood in Round Lake, Brett McClellan carded a 4-over-par 40 in an FVC loss for the Blue Streaks (1-7, 1-7) against the Knights (6-6, 3-5). Dundee-Crown 160, Huntley 166: At Pinecrest in Huntley, Alex Campe shot a 1-over-par 37 to lead D-C to an FVC win. Mason Wicks fired a 36 to earn medalist honors for Huntley. Jacobs 151, McHenry 157: At Randall Oaks in West Dundee, Scott Cahill fired a 1-under-par 34 to lead the Golden Eagles (9-1, 9-1) in their FVC win. Will Stastny shot a 38 to pace McHenry. Cary-Grove 160, CL South 166: At Crystal Lake Country Club, Matt Efflandt shot a 3-over-par 38 to lead the Trojans (10-0, 10-0) to an FVC win. Mike Digrazia shot a 40 to lead the Gators. Grayslake Central 149, Johnsburg 166: At Chapel Hill in McHenry, Jake Arden carded a 2-over-par 37 to lead the Skyhawks (6-7, 3-7) in an FVC loss to the Rams (5-4, 5-4). Hampshire 154, Oregon 170: At Oregon Country Club, Grant Yoder fired an even-par 36 in a BNC win for the Whip-Purs (6-2, 6-2). Burlington Central 171, Marengo 178: At Marengo Ridge, Jake Tucker shot a 4-over-par 40 for the Indians (10-4, 6-2) in their BNC loss. Marian Central 163, Montini 178: At Crystal Woods in Woodstock, Matt Roberts shot a 3-over-par 39 for the Hurricanes (10-3) in their win against the Broncos. Antioch 178, Richmond-Burton 204: At Nippersink in Genoa City, Wis., Eric Buckley shot a 12-over-par 48 for the Rockets (4-7) in their non-conference loss. CROSS COUNTRY Woodstock Meet: At Emricson Park, Anthony Manfrin ran a time of 16:41 and took first place to lead Dundee-Crown (40) to a second-place finish. Woodstock (31) won and was led by Townshend Peters’ time of 17:40. Woodstock North (109) finished fourth, and McHenry (120) was fifth. Johnsburg Meet: At McHenry Township Park, Prairie Ridge won with 38 points. The Wolves were led by Matt Neubauer’s third-place time of 17:14. Crystal Lake Central (72) finished second and was led by Ryan Alvarez’s second-place time of 16:54. Jacobs (88) took third, Crystal Lake South (92) was fourth.
