


Sanchez 1st, R-B runners 2nd at GrantFOX LAKE – Ian Sanchez ran a time of 15:57 to win Grant’s James “J.T.” Taylor Invitational on Saturday at Camp Henry Horner and lead Richmond-Burton to a second-place finish at the 12-team cross country meet. Matt Lytle took second with a time of 16:00, and Richard Kaht took fourth in 16:25 for the Rockets (79 points). Lakes won the meet with 75 points. Dan Fox placed fifth in 16:29 and led Johnsburg (158) to a sixth-place finish. Marengo (256) finished in 11th and was led by Kyle Pratt’s 37th-place time of 18:21. Bartlett Invitational: At Sunrise Park, Woodstock’s J.D. Fuller took third with a time of 15:50, and Phillip Meyer placed sixth with a time of 15:58 to lead the Blue Streaks (83) to a third-place finish. Crystal Lake South (106) placed fourth and was led by Brian Roesslein’s eighth-place time of 16:08. William Hennessy ran a time of 16:17 to finish in 10th place and lead Jacobs (124) to a fifth-place finish. Huntley (212) was led by Joe Mollica’s 28th-place finish in 16:49 as it finished eighth. Winnebago Invitational: At Fuller Forest Preserve, Harvard (213) was led by Alex Kick’s 27th-place finish in 16:10 as it finished in ninth place. Sterling Newman won the event with 56 points. SOCCER Woodstock 4, Belvidere 2: At Belvidere, Christian Harvey scored three goals and assisted on another for the Blue Streaks (6-9-0) in a non-conference win against the Bucs. Morton 1, McHenry 0: At Cicero, Carlos Wence made nine saves for the Warriors (5-8-1) in their non-conference loss to the Mustangs (12-1-2). Prospect 1, CL South 0: At Mount Prospect, Dave Walsh made three saves for the Gators (12-3-2) in their non-conference loss to the Knights (9-2-2). Buffalo Grove 4, Dundee-Crown 0: At Buffalo Grove, Edit Fuentes made 15 saves for the Chargers (2-9-1) in their non-conference loss to the Bison. GOLF Fran Noyes Invitational: At the Oak Club in Genoa, Johnsburg finished fourth with 97 points in the 22-team tournament and was led by Jake Arden, who took 11th with 28 points under a modified Stableford scoring system. Johnsburg’s Tyler Chambers took 17th with 24 points. McDermand Open: At Lake Bluff Golf Course, Woodstock (350) took 15th in the 16-team tournament. New Trier (292) won the tournament. HOCKEY Illinois Varsity Hockey Invitational: Prairie Ridge advanced to the semifinals of the tournament with wins against Glenbrook North, 4-3, and New Trier, 3-1.
