Huntley, sophomore

Dion, a libero, propelled the Red Raiders to win their own tournament last weekend, and rebounded after a loss early in the week to McHenry to beat Crystal Lake South on Thursday with 12 digs. The loss knocked the Gators out of a tie with Cary-Grove for the top spot in the Fox Valley Conference Valley Division.

Dion helped Huntley go 3-2 and finish 11th in the Glenbard East Autumnfest Tournament this weekend. She had more than 80 digs this week.

Noteworthy

Volley For The Cure Update: McHenry will host Jacobs in its Volley For The Cure match at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Raffles and a silent auction will augment the volleyball as the Warriors and the Golden Eagles play one another in a Fox Valley Conference Valley Division contest.

Richmond-Burton’s Volley For The Cure event will be at 6 p.m. Thursday against North Boone in a Big Northern Conference East Division match.

Many of the proceeds generated at these events directly benefit the Susan G. Komen For the Cure Foundation, which supports breast cancer research.

This is one of the final Volley For The Cure events this season and should be a competitive match between the Warriors and the Eagles.

Hampshire (24-2, 9-0) at Burlington Central (21-6, 7-1)

7 p.m. Tuesday

If the Whip-Purs beat the Rockets, they will win the BNC East Division. Hampshire beat Burlington in the teams’ first meeting this season.
