However, Lenard was unable to extend her stay for a second day after she took 42nd Friday in the 500-yard freestyle (5:17.42). Lenard was the area’s only state qualifier. GIRLS BASKETBALL Marian Central Thanksgiving Tournament: Erin Thomas scored nine points for Richmond-Burton, but the Rockets lost to Grayslake Central, 69-29, to fall to 1-1 in the tournament. Nikki Zaobidny added eight for the Rockets (1-2). In Friday’s late game, Tess Hadick and Meagan Murphy each had 11 points for Marian Central (0-2) in a 64-38 loss to Wauconda. DeKalb Turkey Toss-Up: Christina Heine scored 20 points, and Hampshire defeated Peru St. Bede, 60-24, in the Whip-Purs’ season opener. Alex Dumoulin added 14 in the for the Whips (1-0). Harvard Pre-Turkey Tournament: Nelle Youel scored 16 points to help Crystal Lake Central beat Rockford East, 41-26. Erin Frazier added 13 points for the Tigers (2-1). Burlington Central Thanksgiving Classic: Angela Jude scored 10 points, but Woodstock lost to Harlem, 45-35. Tawnee Vermett had nine points for the Blue Streaks (0-2).
