C-G heads All-FVC team

IHSA Class 6A state football champion Cary-Grove led the way with 11 selections to the All-Fox Valley Conference Valley Division team as the list was released this week.

Running back Alex Hembrey and center Hayden Baker, both of whom made the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Class 6A All-State team this month, headed the list of Trojans on the team. Also selected were Eric Chandler, Matt Leibforth, Kyle Leibforth, Stu Gaulke, Sean Considine, Chad McCarron, Nick Underwood, Tyler Krebs and Danny Scott.

C-G finished its season 14-0 and won the first state football title in school history.

Crystal Lake South put nine players on the All-FVC Valley team. Alec Giles, Sam McCole, J.D. Barchard, John Walsh, Drew Ormseth, Brandon Erickson, Jake Bernstein, Trace Wingo and Archer Winberg were the Gators selected.

The All-FVC Fox Division team was led by eight players each from co-champions Crystal Lake Central and Woodstock.

Central had Dallas Bogle, Adam Smyth, Gage Harrah, Cody May, Matt Niemi, Eric McLeland, Jackson Francis and Danny Wyse make the team.

Woodstock put Logan Kunzie, Mike Kremske, Mike Liedtke, Scott Rausch, Tom Discher, Pat Miller, Pat Kretowicz and Christian Rago on the team.
