Hilton’s 17 points lift A-H

HEBRON – Alden-Hebron’s boys basketball team evened its season and Northeastern Athletic Conference record Monday with a 54-43 victory against Illinois Math and Science Academy.

The score was tied at 25 at halftime before A-H (1-1 overall, 1-1 NAC) outscored the Titans, 13-5, in the third quarter.

Jared Hilton led all scorers with 17 points for the Giants, going 9 of 15 from the free-throw line, and Shane Engelbrecht added 13 points, including two three-pointers.

Girls basketball

Clinton 65, Harvard 47: At Harvard, the Hornets (1-9) trailed by five heading into the fourth quarter, but the Maroons outscored the Hornets in the fourth, 19-6, for a non-conference win.

Ashley Crosby led Harvard with 10 points.

Boys Hockey

CL South 8, Guerin/Nazareth 0: Eric Purcell and Bret Graser each had two goals and an assist to lead South to the victory.

Girls Bowling

McHenry 2,492, Huntley 1,866: At McHenry, Alyssa Amstadt bowled a match-high 205 in her second game and a 541 series to lead the Warriors to a Fox Valley Conference win against the Red Raiders. Amy Antezak bowled a 443 series to lead Huntley.

Woodstock 2,123, Grayslake Central 2,004: At Grayslake, Rachel Goldberg rolled a 521 series, and Lynea Stieg bowled a 210 game for the Blue Streaks in their FVC victory.

Boys Bowling

McHenry 2,537, Woodstock 2,290: At Woodstock, Kent Grimes had a 542 series, including a 213 game for the Warriors in their victory.
