


South boys best JacobsCRYSTAL LAKE – Crystal Lake South’s Robbie Lemke scored all of his nine points in the fourth quarter and overtime Wednesday to help the Gators past Jacobs, 43-39, in their Fox Valley Conference Valley Division game. The win, along with McHenry’s loss to Cary-Grove, put South (10-6 overall, 3-0 FVC Valley) alone atop the division standings. Jacobs (3-12, 0-2) took the lead in overtime, but Lemke answered with a three-pointer that gave South the lead for good. Grayslake North 67, CL Central 46: At Crystal Lake, Joe Pijanowski had 11 points, but the Tigers (4-13, 1-3 FVC Fox) lost to the Knights (6-8, 2-2). Woodstock 52, Woodstock North 35: At Woodstock, Jake Vernola and Townshend Peters each scored 12 points as the Blue Streaks (5-12, 1-1 FVC Fox) beat the Thunder (0-14, 0-3). Huntley 45, Dundee-Crown 43: At Carpentersville, Justin Frederick scored a game-high 15 points as the Red Raiders (12-5, 1-1 FVC Valley) beat the Chargers (1-14, 0-3). GIRLS BASKETBALL Prairie Ridge 50, Woodstock North 39: At Crystal Lake, Taylor Smerecky scored 17 points for the Wolves (11-10, 3-3 FVC Fox) in their win against the Thunder (7-12, 1-5). BOYS WRESTLING Prairie Ridge 77, Woodstock North 6: At Woodstock, the Wolves recorded seven pins to win an FVC matchup. Eric English (103), Drake Smith (130), Tim Deering (171), Randy DeBruyne (189), and Tim Zegers (285) had first-period pins for Prairie Ridge. Johnsburg 55, Woodstock 17: At Johnsburg, the Skyhawks took 11 of 14 matches in an FVC matchup.
