Big 3rd quarter paces R-B

RICHMOND – After scoring 16 points in the first half Thursday, Richmond-Burton’s boys basketball team outscored Byron by 15 in the third quarter to earn a 48-42 Big Northern Conference crossover win.

The Rockets (15-6) hit 13 of 16 free throws.

Kyle Wismer led R-B with 15 points, and Chad O’Kane and Kenny Riordan each had nine.

Oregon 39, Marengo 38: At Marengo, the Indians (3-16) led, 19-16, at halftime of their BNC crossover loss. Zach Lundquist led Marengo with 13 points, and Austin Brettschneider added 10.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Wauconda 48, Harvard 26: At Wauconda, Emily Scott led the Hornets (6-20) with 13 points in their non-conference loss.

BOYS SWIMMING

Woodstock 84, Jacobs/Dundee-Crown 84: At Woodstock, John Jost and Alex Elston won two individual events for Jacobs/D-C in a tie against Woodstock.

Zach Zankle won the 100-yard backstroke for the Blue Streaks.
