C-G gets win, trophy

It was a big night in The Grove, as the boys basketball team got a huge division win against CL South and the championship football team got another trophy to add to the case.

The Trojans got into the win column against the Gators and now have a one-game lead on South and a half-game lead on Mac Town, whose game was postponed due to the ugly weather conditions.

C-G’s state football champs got an award from Max Preps at halftime, which was presented by the National Guard. The Rant thinks they might have to build a bigger trophy case over there at C-G.

The Warrior ballers will be waitin' for C-G on Friday, though. The two boys teams are going to get together and sort things out some in the FVC Valley.

Won't be easy for C-G – that basketball crowd up at McHenry is startin' to make a name for itself as one of the best around. Rant's seen more an' more people around the league noticin' the spirit of the Warrior fans, and Rant wants to see 'em bring the noise Friday night.

Who do you like in this matchup, Rant readers?

The Rant noticed that Huntley beat Johnsburg in girls hoops. This is exactly what you do not want to happen if you’re the Skyhawks, who are tryin’ to close out division play and get some momentum for the playoffs. Of course, if you’re the Red Raiders ya just want to figure out how ya won and repeat it in the postseason.
