Jacobs went 2-2 in the playoffs but did not advance as one of the top two teams. On Thursday, Nulle had two assists as the Eagles defeated Downers Grove South, 8-4, to advance in the AHAI Blackhawk Cup White State Tournament. Jacobs plays March 4 in the state tournament at The Edge in Bensenville. Noteworthy Moving on: Crystal Lake South and the CCM Tigers are the two local teams advancing in the Metro Central Division Scholastic and Founders Cup playoffs. South finished 3-1 in the Scholastic to take second and earn one of the two spots. The Gators meet York at 8 p.m. today at All Seasons Ice Arena in Naperville. The Scholastic and Founders Cup playoffs take the top two teams from each division to a single-elimination tournament. If South wins, it plays the winner between BGHW (a combined team from Buffalo Grove, Hoffman Estates and Wheeling) and either Glenbrook South or Stevenson. That game will be at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday at Wilmette Ice Arena. CCM, which combines players from Crystal Lake Central, Dundee-Crown, McHenry and Woodstock, was 4-0 in the Founders Cup and advances as the Metro Central’s No. 1 team. The Tigers play Hinsdale Central at 5:15 p.m. Sunday at Rink Side Ice Arena in Gurnee. Playoff standings Metro Central Scholastic Cup Team W-L-T Pts.
