CL Central names Fralick new football coach

Crystal Lake Central has promoted sophomore football coach Matt Fralick to varsity head coach for the 2010-11 season, school officials said Wednesday.

Fralick has been a teacher at Central for the past nine years and has assisted at all levels of the football program, according to a press release from Central. Fralick also has coached girls and boys basketball during his time at the school.

He also was head coach of the Alden-Hebron varsity football team in 2000.

Fralick is replacing Jon McLaughlin, who helped to revitalize what had been a moribund program. The Tigers won their first home playoff game in 30 years last season, McLaughlin's last as coach of the team.

McLaughlin said he resigned because he wanted to watch his own son play football at Grayslake North.
