Skyhawks streak into playoffs

JOHNSBURG – Johnsburg’s boys basketball team continued its strong finish to the season with a 66-44 Fox Valley Conference Fox division win against Woodstock on Friday night.

The Skyhawks (24-2 overall, 10-2 FVC Fox) were led by C.J. Fiedorowicz’s 20 points and Mike Dombrowski’s 11 points.

They have won four games in a row going into the postseason.

The Blue Streaks (5-22, 1-11) were led by Jordan Turner’s 11 points.

Johnsburg is a No. 1 seed in the Class 3A Johnsburg Regional. The Skyhawks will face No. 4 Antioch in the first round of the playoffs on Tuesday.

Woodstock enters the playoffs as a No. 4 seed and will face fifth-seeded Woodstock North in the first round of the Class 3A Woodstock North Regional on Monday.

Grayslake North 69, Dundee-Crown 58: At Carpentersville, Ryan Smith scored 30 points for the Chargers’ (4-21) in an FVC crossover loss to the Knights (13-12).

The Chargers will open the playoffs as the No. 5 seed in the Class 4A Barrington Regional, and will face No. 4 Larkin on Monday.

Burlington Central 54, Richmond-Burton 49: At Burlington, Chad O’Kane scored 19 points and led R-B (16-9, 8-2 Big Northern Conference East Division) in a BNC East loss against Central (13-13, 7-3).

R-B has dropped two in a row since clinching the BNC East. It will enter the playoffs as a No. 3 seed in the Johnsburg Regional and face No. 2 Lakes on Wednesday.
