CL South's Burton, Marengo's Hart and Velasquez make commitments

Crystal Lake South senior guard Katie Burton has made an oral commitment to play basketball for the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater.

Burton averaged 10.8 points per game for the Gators this season and was a four-year varsity starter who amassed more than 1,000 career points.

Marengo softball players, senior infielder Amanda Hart and senior catcher Kaleigh Velasquez, both signed with Judson University.

Hart is a four-year varsity player who drove in 35 runs last year while Velasquez was battery mates with some of the area's best pitchers in Danielle Simons, Mattie McGuire and Chloe Montgomery.
