She will compete for the Queen of the Hill title at 1:30 p.m. Saturday against Class 1A shooter Kelsey Herridge of Brimfield and Class 2A shooter Allie Norton of Bloomington Central Catholic. Naperville Central's Emma Ondik, Marist's Haley Stercic, Fenwick's Kathleen Roche and Hersey's Megan Rogowski are the Class 4A finalists shooting later this afternoon, with the winner advancing to Saturday's Queen of the Hill competition. "I was really confident and had a feeling I could do it," Van Dorin said. "I missed a few, but I didn’t let it get me down. "I haven’t really shot my best round down here yet, and I average 11 or 12, so I should have a good round tomorrow." -Maureen Lynch |
