


Woodstock rallies, beats Jacobs in 8thWOODSTOCK – Woodstock scored six times in the bottom of the sixth inning, eventually forced extra innings and defeated Jacobs, 10-9, in eight innings in their Fox Valley Conference crossover baseball game Tuesday. Jacobs (3-5 overall, 1-3 FVC Valley Division) led, 7-0, heading into the bottom of the sixth when the Streaks (6-6, 1-2 FVC Fox) came to life on offense. Woodstock scored twice in the bottom of the seventh and then scored twice again in the bottom of the eighth for the win. Tim Ciskowski drove in the winning run. CL Central 3, CL South 2: At Crystal Lake Central, Dylan Cysewski struck out 10 for the Tigers (10-2, 3-1 FVC Fox) to get the FVC crossover win. Dundee-Crown 10, Woodstock North 2: At Woodstock, James Quick hit two doubles for the Thunder (3-5, 0-3 FVC Fox) in an FVC crossover loss to the Chargers (6-7-1, 3-2 FVC Valley). Huntley 12, Johnsburg 5: At Johnsburg, Huntley had 11 hits in an FVC crossover win against Johnsburg (4-5,1-3 FVC Fox). Chris Klein struck out nine for the Raiders (9-1, 3-0 FVC Valley). Harvard 4, North Boone 3: At Harvard, T.J. Stephens struck out seven and gave up one earned run for the Hornets (10-3, 1-0) in a Big Northern Conference East Division win. Westminster Christian 10, Alden-Hebron 3: At Alden-Hebron, Cody Eskridge went 3 for 4 and drove in two runs, and Shane Engelbrecht added a triple for Alden-Hebron (0-6, 0-1) in a Northeastern Athletic Conference win. Marian Central 4, St. Francis 3: At Woodstock, Dave Luczak struck out 11 and allowed five hits as the Hurricanes (7-2, 3-0) defeated the Spartans in Suburban Christian Conference Blue Division play. BOYS TENNIS Johnsburg 7, Woodstock North 0: At Johnsburg, the Skyhawks (6-0, 4-0) kept their perfect record intact in an FVC matchup. “We’ve started out the season strong,” Johnsburg coach Rick Bailey said. “We’ve got Jacobs, Crystal Lake South and McHenry coming up. It’s time to take a step.” Prairie Ridge 6, Cary-Grove 1: At Cary, Connor Greenwald won at No. 1 singles as the Wolves won the FVC match. Quinn Revak and Brandon Curtis won at No. 1 doubles for the Wolves. Owen Russell won at No. 3 singles for the Trojans (1-6, 0-3). CL South 7, Dundee-Crown 0: At Crystal Lake, Cam Laktash won at No. 1 singles for the Gators (5-0, 2-0) in an FVC win. McHenry 5, Huntley 2: Evan Szechowycz won at No. 1 singles to lead McHenry to an FVC win. Jacobs 6, Woodstock 1: At Algonquin, Colin Forbes won at No. 1 singles for the Golden Eagles (8-2, 4-0) in an FVC win. Hampshire 4, Marengo 1: At Marengo, Christian De La Cruz won at No. 1 singles for the Whip-Purs in a Big Northern Conference win. Rockford Keith 3, Hampshire 2: At Marengo, in their No. 1 doubles match, Farhan Shakeel and Mark Palmer came back from an 5-0 deficit against Rockford Keith to win the match. TRACK Winnebago Meet: Harvard’s Oscar Morales won the 3,200 and 1,600 meters to lead the Hornets to second place at a five-team meet in Winnebago. The host Indians won with 162 points, Harvard scored 103. Cody Kramer won the 200 and took second in the long jump for Harvard. Marengo Triangular: Cody Bauman won the triple jump (36-3) as the host Indians (60) finished second to North Boone (72).
