


Prairie Ridge’s Stevens perfectWOODSTOCK – Prairie Ridge softball pitcher Kirsten Stevens did something Monday most pitchers only dream about. Stevens pitched a perfect game while striking out 15 in Prairie Ridge’s 3-0 Fox Valley Conference Fox Division win against Woodstock North. The Wolves (8-5 overall, 5-1 FVC Fox) were led on offense by Lauren Seegers, who went 2 for 3 with a triple and an RBI, and Erin Smith, who went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Nikki Greenhill (6-7) pitched seven innings for the Thunder (6-10, 3-2) and struck out seven in taking the loss. Grayslake North 7, Johnsburg 1: At Grayslake, the Skyhawks (5-10, 1-4) dropped an FVC Fox game to the Knights (4-5, 2-3). Cary-Grove 12, Dundee-Crown 2 (5 inn.): At Carpentersville, Taylor Dunne hit a grand slam and had five RBIs for the Trojans in an FVC Valley Division victory. Eleni Polites scored twice for C-G (11-5, 5-0). Jessie Lewandowski tripled and scored a run for the Chargers (0-11, 0-6). McHenry 12, CL South 2 (6 inn.): At McHenry, Mikaela Mitsch (2-0) struck out two and went 3 for 4 at the plate with a double and an RBI to lead the Warriors (7-5, 3-3) to the FVC Valley win against the Gators (5-8, 1-4). Alden-Hebron 11, Rockford Christian 1 (5 inn.): At Rockford, Julie Bryan went 2 for 3 with two home runs and four RBIs in the Giants’ Northeastern Athletic Conference win. Hayli Lagerhausen (6-7) struck out 13 to earn the win for A-H (8-7, 3-2). Harvard 7, Winnebago 0: At Harvard, Lindsay Melson (11-5) recorded her 170th strikeout of the season for the Hornets, breaking her previous season high of 169, in a Big Northern Conference crossover win. Brittany Finke went 2 for 4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs for Harvard (11-5). Marian Central 8, Aurora Central Catholic 4: At Aurora, Mary Belluomini homered as the Hurricanes (4-5, 1-1) won their Suburban Christian Conference Blue Division game. SOCCER Cary-Grove 3, McHenry 0: At Cary, Mary Schneider, Korey Kronforst and Brittany Koening each scored goals for the Trojans (7-6, 2-2) in their FVC Valley win against the Warriors (5-3, 0-3). Quinn Rogers recorded 11 saves for McHenry. CL Central 2, Wauconda 1: At Crystal Lake, Christy Kinhan scored a goal, and Crystal Lake Central’s goalkeepers combined to make five saves for the Tigers (7-2-0), who shut out the Bulldogs in the second half to earn the non-conference win. Kaneland 6, Marengo 1: At Marengo, Alexa Torman scored a first-half goal, but the Indians (7-5) lost in non-conference action. TRACK Dundee-Crown Triangular: At Carpentersville, the host Chargers won with 78.5 points. Junior Claira Himmel won the 1,600 meters (5:50) and took third in the long jump (13-8) and the 800 meters (2:33). Jacobs finished in second with 61.5 points. Prairie Ridge Quadrangular: At Crystal Lake, Molly Flood took first in the 800 meters (2:30) to help lead Crystal Lake Central (77) to a first-place finish. Woodstock (73) finished second, and Prairie Ridge (53) was third. The Blue Streaks’ Gabby Schmidt won the 100 (12.97) and the 200 (27.0). Harvard Quadrangular: At Harvard, Emily Scott won the shot put (32 feet, 3 inches) and the discus (97-101⁄2) for Harvard, but the Hornets took fourth place with 38 points. Harvard also won the 4x200 and 4x400 relays. Genoa-Kingston 14, Marengo 58: At Genoa, Marengo’s Allison Rogituch won the triple jump with a distance of 34-91⁄2, but the Indians lost to the Cogs in a BNC dual meet.
