Warnecke helps C-G win track triangular

CARY – Jessica Warnecke won the 300-meter low hurdles in 48.5 seconds Monday to lead Cary-Grove to a first-place finish at its girls track triangular with 92.5 points.

Kamile Udrenaite won the shot put (33 feet, 21⁄2 inches) and the discus (103-5) for Crystal Lake South, which took second (47).

Lauren Wallace won the 200 (27.4) for Jacobs (34.5 points).

Richmond-Burton Triangular: At Richmond, Tori Olker won the long jump (13-4) and the 100 meters (13.04) for the host Rockets in a second-place team finish (65 points).

Burlington Central won with 105.5, and North Boone was third with 15.5.

CL Central Quad: At Crystal Lake, Molly Flood won the 800 (2:31.2) and finished second in the 1,600 (5:38.2) to help Central win the meet with 102 points.

Prairie Ridge’s Taylor Humm won the shot put (32-21⁄4) and discus (101-9), helping the Wolves tie for second with McHenry with 74 points.

McHenry won the 4x400 and 4x200 relays, and the Warriors’ Ashley Conway won the long jump (16-9).

Grayslake North Triangular: Huntley’s Amy Fanella won the 110 high hurdles (15:84) and the 300 intermediate hurdles (47.0) to lead the Red Raiders to first place with 108.5 points.

Hailey Loprieno won the 800 (2:29.32) and finished second in the 400 (1:07.12). Marilyn McDougall finished second in the 100 (13.25) and won the long jump (15-4).

Woodstock Triangular: Lindsay Mosher won the triple jump (28-11) for Dundee-Crown, which won the team title with 83 points.

Sharon Mwale won the high jump (5-0), 400 (1:04.5) and 200 (27.6) for Woodstock, which finished second (58).

Ashley Albertz won the shot put (34-0) for Woodstock North (45).

SOFTBALL

CL South 13, Jacobs 9: At Algonquin, Liz Adams went 3 for 3 with a solo home run and a double in the Gators’ Fox Valley Conference Valley Division win. Jackie Wolf earned the win in seven innings for South (7-9, 2-4).

Jenna Teson went 3 for 5 with two RBIs, and Sara Jacobson went 3 for 4 with a double and a triple for Jacobs (9-6, 3-3).

Grayslake North 2, CL Central 0: At Grayslake, Amber Dyson went 2 for 3 for the Tigers (12-5, 6-1) in an FVC Fox loss.

McHenry 13, Dundee-Crown 9: At McHenry, Mikaela Mitsch drove in three runs and struck out seven to get the win for the Warriors (8-7, 4-3) in an FVC Valley win.

Melany Love hit two homers – one a grand slam – to lead the Chargers (1-13, 0-7).

Grayslake Central 7, Woodstock 6 (8 inn.): At Woodstock, Kara McCaughrean homered for the Blue Streaks (4-13, 1-6) and took the FVC Fox loss.

Marian Central 8, Aurora Christian 5: At Aurora, Kaitlyn Bliss doubled for the Hurricanes (8-7, 3-2) in a Suburban Christian Conference Blue Division win.

SOCCER

McHenry 3, Wauconda 1: At McHenry, Amber Pringle, Molly Machometa and Mariah Garcia scored for the Warriors (8-6) in a non-conference win.

Burlington Central 3, Marengo 1: At Burlington, Alexa Torman scored for the Indians (7-7, 2-2) in a BNC East loss.

Marian Central 7, Grant 0: At Woodstock, Shannon Grady scored two goals, both on assists from her sister Lauren, to lead the Hurricanes (13-2-1) to a non-conference win.
