


A-H starts fishing final strongCARLYLE – Alden-Hebron’s bass fishing team came into the first day of the IHSA state tournament Friday at Carlyle Lake off a second-place finish at the Chain O’ Lakes Sectional on April 28. The Giants’ team of Sig Finley and Max Vazquez performed well again, netting five fish weighing 13 pounds, 14 ounces to put A-H in seventh place out of 57 boats going into today’s final day. Monticello leads the tournament with a weight of 17 pounds, 15 ounces. Today’s competition begins at 9 a.m. with weigh-ins beginning at 3 p.m. GIRLS SOCCER Lakes 3, Marian Central 2: At Lake Villa, Lauren Grady scored a goal and had an assist for the Hurricanes, who lost the non-conference game. Harmony Kendzora scored the other goal for Marian (16-3-1). Kaneland Klassic: At Maple Park, Allison Wynn made seven saves as Woodstock (7-10-1) and Burlington Central played to a scoreless tie.
