Prom won the 800- and 1,600-meter runs Friday at the Kane County Boys Track and Field Meet to score 20 of the Chargers’ 28 points. D-C finished sixth behind Prom’s two victories. In the 800, Prom ran a 1:55.96, which was under the Class 3A state-qualifying time in that race. Prom came back to win the 1,600 in 4:27.36. SFlbAshley Conway McHenry, jr. Conway won the long jump and high jump Thursday at the IHSA Class 3A Hononegah Sectional, earning her third trip to the state meet. Conway won the long jump at 17 feet, 4 inches – 2 inches ahead of Cary-Grove’s Kelly McCoy. She won the high jump at 5-5, ahead of C-G junior Carly Loeffel (5-4). She also anchored McHenry’s 4x100 relay team, which qualified in second place. The other members of that group were Miranda Rorer, Laura D’Angelo and Alex Friske. Week’s Top Meets Boys Fox Valley Conference Meet 4 p.m. today The host Warriors are a slight favorite after winning last month’s McHenry County Meet, but Crystal Lake Central looms as a stiff challenger after finishing one point back in the county meet. Big Northern Conference Meet 4 p.m. today, at Hampshire The meet was postponed from Thursday and will run today. Richmond-Burton, which took fourth last year, could make a run at the team title. Girls Class 2A Richmond-Burton Sectional, 4 p.m. today Local teams competing: Crystal Lake Central, Johnsburg, Marian Central, Prairie Ridge, Richmond-Burton, Woodstock and Woodstock North.
