CLC coach Schroeder resignsCrystal Lake Central varsity girls soccer coach Josef Schroeder has resigned. Schroeder led the Tigers to a 12-6 showing this year and was 66-43-9 in seven seasons. Central won its first regional title last season. Central athletic director Doug Blundy announced Schroeder’s resignation Friday. The job will be posted throughout District 155 for applicants before it is open to the public. Schroeder cited spending more time with family as the primary reason for stepping down. “I know it sounds cliché, but it’s the truth,” Schroeder said in an e-mail. “Coaching properly requires 100 percent devotion to the program and the athletes, and I don’t want to compromise that commitment.” Schroeder will coach his young son’s team and said “something had to give.” Blundy said he was sad to see Schroeder go. “We’re going to miss him a lot,” Blundy said. “He’s done a great job coaching our program. As a varsity coach he has taken our program to a new level, and we’re very grateful for all the time he put into it.” |
