Knaizer tops senior boys field in MCJGA opener

CRYSTAL LAKE – The McHenry County Junior Golf Association season opened Wednesday at Prairie Isle Golf Club.

Brendon Knaizer, who attends Crystal Lake South, shot a 4-over-par 76 and won a playoff against Blake Stezskal to win the senior boys division of the Prairie Isle Open.

Max Rand, who attends Crystal Lake Central, shot a 12-over 84 to win the junior boys division by two shots against James Parrone.

Katlyn Anderberg, a recent Huntley graduate who will take her game to Judson University, won by 10 shots in the senior girls division, shooting a 4-over 40 to defeat Jessica Stengel and Kelly Olson.

Samantha Leicht, who attends Marian Central, defeated Danielle Roulo by one shot in the junior girls division with a 10-over 46.
