Ellett sisters finish 1-2 in junior golf tourney

Hampshire High School’s Taylor Ellett and sister Connie Ellett finished first and second, respectively, in the IJGA-CDGA Junior Amateur that concluded Thursday at Mill Creek in Geneva. The two-day, 36-hole event is co-sanctioned by the Illinois Junior Golf Association and the Chicago District Golf Association.

Taylor Ellett, who will be a senior at Hampshire, shot rounds of 76 and 74 for an 8-over-par 150 total. Connie, who will be a junior, tied for second at 155.

In the boys division, a 54-hole event, Crystal Lake South junior Nick Robles was in second place after firing a 4-under 67 on Thursday to get to 1-under 141, three shots behind leader Doug Ghim of Buffalo Grove. Jacobs graduate Josh Kopka of Carpentersville was tied for ninth at 5-over 147.
