Whips bounce back with soccer victory

GENOA – A day after losing its season opener to Dundee-Crown, coach John Gosling and Hampshire’s boys soccer team recovered with a 2-0 Big Northern Conference crossover win against Genoa-Kingston on Tuesday.

Senior forward Ismael Morales scored goals in both halves for the Whip-Purs (1-1), and Marcus Quick made four saves.

“After an intense game [Monday night], we were a little slow getting things started today,” Gosling said. “We missed some early opportunities that would have put it away early, but the most important thing is that we won after losing on [Monday].”
