Elgin pulls away from D-C

Elgin 41, Dundee-Crown 12

Game summary: The Chargers were not able to find a way to take control of the game Friday against Elgin and fell, 41-12, to the Maroons. D-C was able to tie the game, 6-6, in the second quarter, but four unanswered touchdowns, including a 98-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter after a long D-C drive, allowed the Maroons to stay in command.

Key play: Tanner Kotlan found Steven Schwartz for a 39-yard touchdown pass to tie the game, 6-6, in the second quarter.

Top player: Kotlan went 15 for 34 for 252 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

Quote: “The team needs to become more physical on the offensive line,” Dundee-Crown head coach Mike Davis said. “Things didn’t happen offensively and we need to fix that.”

Next: Dundee-Crown (0-1) visits Streamwood on Friday.
