


A-H girls bow outDURAND – The Alden-Hebron girls basketball team ended its season with a 53-26 loss to top-seeded Dakota in the IHSA Class A Durand Regional semifinals Wednesday. Sammi Helland led the fourth-seeded Giants (6-19) with 12 points, going 7 of 8 on free throws. Haylee Lagerhausen scored six and advanced in the Three-Point Showdown with five three-pointers made. McHenry 57, CL Central 19: At McHenry, Katie Hennelly scored 17 points to lead the Warriors (19-9) in a Fox Valley Conference crossover win. Erin Frazier led the Tigers (15-12) with 11 points. Woodstock North 49, Rockford East 46: At Rockford, Ashley Albertz scored 15, and Haylee Nutter added 11 for the Thunder (14-11) in a non-conference win. BOYS BASKETBALL Prairie Ridge 32, Woodstock North 31: At Woodstock, Michael Bradshaw led the Wolves (4-17 overall, 2-7 FVC Fox Division) with 12 points, and Shane Cullian added 11 in an FVC Fox win. Zach Devore led the Thunder (2-21, 1-7) with 11 points. BOYS SWIMMING Cary-Grove 125, McHenry 45: At McHenry, Jon Curtis (100-yard backstroke), Joe Weber (100 butterfly), and Conor Cornelius (500 fresstyle) each won an individual event for the Trojans and combined to win the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay in an FVC win.
