


Alden-Hebron rolls past Christian LifeROCKFORD – Hayli Lagerhausen threw her third no-hitter in a row, and Alden-Hebron won its ninth consecutive game as the Giants swept Rockford Christian Life in a Northeastern Athletic Conference softball doubleheader Thursday, 13-0 and 25-1. “Hayli does a good job and keeps the ball down,” A-H coach Jerry Lagerhausen said. “Our defense is really coming around.” Hayli Lagerhausen (11-5) finished the day with big numbers at the plate, going 5 for 6 with a home run and three RBIs. Taylor Hack added two doubles and three RBIs to complete the sweep for the Giants (14-5 overall, 8-0 NAC). Cary-Grove 10, Dundee-Crown 0 (5 inn.): At Cary, Emma Gaulke opened the door for the Trojans (16-1, 7-0) with a three-run triple, and Lindsay Efflandt earned the Fox Valley Conference Valley Division win. Melany Love hit two singles for the Chargers (2-10, 1-6). Woodstock North 3, Grayslake Central 2 (8 inn.): At Grayslake, Nikki Greenhill (4-7) won the eight inning pitchers’ duel as Woodstock North (3-10, 1-6 FVC) edged Grayslake Central (8-9, 4-5) in FVC Fox play. St. Edward 3, Marian Central 2: At Elgin, Liz Wachholder hit a double for the Hurricanes (7-4, 1-3), but Marian lost in Suburban Christian Conference play.
Prairie Ridge 6, Johnsburg 1: At Johnsburg, Shannon Calahan scored early off a pass from Ashley Fenton, and scored again in the second half to lead the Wolves (5-5, 5-2) past Johnsburg in FVC Fox play. Kelsey Nobilio made six saves for the Skyhawks (2-11, 1-6). Grayslake Central 3 Woodstock North 0: At Woodstock, Savannah Mudd scored two goals in the second half in the Rams’ (11-2, 7-2) FVC Fox victory. Melanie Vrasich made eight saves for the Thunder (4-9-1, 2-6). Dundee-Crown 2, CL Central 1: At Crystal Lake, Hannah Larsen scored two goals en route to an FVC win for D-C (8-8, 5-3) against Central (1-9, 0-7). Richmond-Burton 1, Burlington Central 1: At Burlington, Sydney Wilkins matched Burlington Central’s first-half goal as the Rockets (6-6-2, 1-3-1) tied in BNC play. Marengo 4, Harvard 2 (2 OT): At Harvard, Sabrina Marsh scored two second-half goals to lead the Indians (10-4, 4-2) in a BNC win. Mikahl Stricker scored a goal and assisted another for the Hornets (8-6-1, 2-4). Hampshire 7, North Boone 1: At Hampshire, Alex Zeller scored twice, Emily Zeller and Helena Van Eck each added a goal and an assist, and Paige Palubicki scored twice in a BNC win for Hampshire (11-3-4, 6-1). Marian Central 4, Wheaton Academy 0: At Wheaton, Harmony Kendzora notched three goals to lift Marian (10-7, 5-0) to a Suburban Christian Conference shutout and their eighth consecutive win. Susan Thomas had four assists. TRACK Richmond-Burton Rocket Relays: At Richmond, Marengo won five relay events, Hampshire won four and the host-Rockets won three but scored the most points to win the seven-team meet with 116 points. R-B’s Marissa Woodward, Kaitlyn Curran and Andrea Fox won the discus relay (202-11), and Woodward and Fox teamed with Lydia Moore to win the shot put relay (82-4). Marengo’s Katie Sprague, Paige Malinowski, Morgan Bartlett and Shawney Damisch won the 3200-meter relay (10:19.68) and Malinowski joined Ashley Gruel and Allison Rogutich on the winning triple jump relay team (90-2.5).
