Harris leads Prairie Ridge to semifinalsLISLE – An early two-run cushion was all pitcher Ryan Harris needed to send Prairie Ridge to the semifinals Tuesday at the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association’s Phil Lawler Summer Classic. Harris, who will be a senior this school year, pitched a complete game in the Wolves’ 2-1 win against Neuqua Valley. Harris picked runners off second base with no outs in the fifth and sixth innings to snuff out scoring chances. The Wolves’ Lucas Keller had the game-winning hit, a two-out single to right-center field on a 2-1 count that scored Jordan Getzelman in the first inning. The Wolves play again at 7:30 p.m. today at Benedictine College and would advance to Thurday’s title game with a win. |
