Damien Stone- Also at the tournament, Jordan Kempf scored eight points for Woodstock North in a 69-46 loss to Hononegah. AJ Mercurio (13 points) and Tommy Waytula (10) combined to scored 23 points to lead Marian Central in a 50-47 loss to Belvidere. And Cary-Grove, led by Ryan Arquette’s team-high 14 points, lost, 56-49, to Larkin. Grayslake North 64, Richmond-Burton 27: At Grays-lake, Matt Kaufman scored 10 points to lead Richmond-Burton in the nonconference loss. Rockford Harlem 73, Johnsburg 61: At Johnsburg, Mike Ward and T.J. Sigmund each scored 12 points to lead Johnsburg in the nonconference loss. WRESTLING Prairie Ridge 47, Richmond-Burton 21: At Crystal Lake, Prairie Ridge freshman Marc Kuchelmuss pinned Richmond-Burton’s Luke Brinkmen in their 132-pound match, Matt Wilcox (145) also won by fall and John Febrache won by technical fall to help the Wolves to the nonconference win. The Rockets’ Cameron Kennedy beat Eric English from Prairie Ridge, 5-1, in their 120-pound match, and Grant Sutton (138) won by fall over Ryan Skiermanski to lead R-B. McHenry 46, Fremd 27: At Palatine, five McHenry wrestlers, including Britches Sikula, Mike Sikula and Brad Ostdick, collected pins to lead the Warriors in their season-opening victory. The Warriors (1-0) will compete in the Jacobs Mega Duel at Jacobs High School on Saturday. GIRLS BASKETBALL Cary-Grove 42, Rolling Meadows 30: At Lake Zurich, Paige Lincicum scored a game-high 16 points to lead Cary-Grove in the nonconference win at the Lake Zurich Tournament. The Trojans’ Olivia Jakubicek scored 13 points in the game and was named to the all-tournament team. Marengo 54, Woodstock 36: At Burlington, Jessica Villie scored 14 points and Molly Richardson added 10 to lead Marengo against Woodstock at the Burlington Central Tournament.
