


Woodstock’s Busch wins bowling tourneyROCKFORD – Woodstock’s Paige Busch posted a 878 series – including a 235 high game – to win the Rockford East Holiday Invitational title by 57 pins over runner-up Krystal Alt of Marengo Saturday. Behind its tourney champ, Woodstock finished sixth (3,803) in the 10-team field. Alt (821), Becca Czlapinski (4th, 765), Susan Anthony (6th, 756) and Dominique Bailey (8th, 729) placed in the top 10 to pace Marengo’s (5,001) first-place finish in the team standings. On the boys’ side, Dokota Termini (858) and Patrick Bailey (856) finished ninth and 10th, respectively, to carry Marengo (4,889) to a sixth-place finish in the 13-team tournament. Beau Rehnar (811) took 16th to help Huntley (4,717) end up eighth. Tyler Busch (753) was 31st to lead Woodstock (4,610) to 10th place. GIRLS BASKETBALL Mundelein Holiday Classic: Olivia Jakubicek led the charge with 21 points for Cary-Grove, and the Trojans slipped past host Mundelein, 38-36, in tournament action. Paige Lincicum added eight points for the Trojans (8-3), who advanced to play Wednesday in the semifinals against Rolling Meadows. Sarah LeBeau finished with a game-high 17 points to lead Prairie Ridge past Auburn, 52-38, in tournament action Saturday morning. Haleigh Danek added 11 points for the Wolves (5-7). Also, Haley Ream scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Sam Andrews added nine points to lead Huntley (8-3) past Grant, 35-30, at Mundelein. BOYS BASKETBALL LaSalle-Peru 61, McHenry 51: At LaSalle, Jasper Taylor (15 points), Jeff Nicholls (11) and Robert Tonyan (10) each scored in double figures in the Warriors’ (2-4) non-conference loss. WRESTLING McHenry Quad: Mike Sikula (113 pounds), Mike Infelise (126), Wade Lardy (145), Kody Olejniczak (195) and Angel Hernandez (285) each won three matches to lead McHenry (13-1) to victories against Alden-Hebron (76-6) and Hoffman Estates, and a loss against Lake Zurich, the Warriors’ first dual loss of the season. BOYS SWIMMING East Lopin Relays: Woodstock swam to a team victory in the 100-yard freestyle relay en route to a fourth-place finish (128) at Harlem.
