


C-G clinches Valley title share; Harvard notches first victoryCARY– The Cary-Grove girls basketball team clinched a share of the Fox Valley Conference Valley Division title with a 42-33 win against Jacobs on Wednesday. The Trojans (15-8, 9-1) led by one heading into the final quarter, then outscored the Golden Eagles, 17-9, to close out the game. Junior Olivia Jakubicek led Cary with 16 points and five rebounds and senior Paige Lincicum added 12 points, five assists and five steals. Senior Maggie Hansen scored 10 points to lead the Golden Eagles (5-18, 2-8) and senior Jessica Tennant added seven points and five rebounds. Harvard 58, South Beloit 55: At South Beloit, the Hornets (1-25) picked up their first win of the season in a non-conference game. Abby Linhart led Harvard with 26 points, including five three-pointers, to go with 13 rebounds and Stephanie Stephens added 12 points and six rebounds. Huntley 46, Dundee-Crown 34: At Huntley, Haley Ream scored 11 of her game-high 16 points in the second half for the Red Raiders in their FVC Valley Division win. Ream added 12 rebounds and seven steals, with Sam Andrews adding 10 points for Huntley (12-11, 6-4). Diamond Williams led the Chargers (14-9, 7-3) with 11 points and Carliin Faulkner added 10. Lakes 48, Richmond-Burton 39: At Richmond, Erin Thomas scored 12 points to lead the Rockets (16-7) in a non-conference loss. Alex Callanan and Andrea Fox each added eight points for R-B. Prairie Ridge 28, CL Central 22: At Crystal Lake, Haleigh Danek and Kelsey Bear each scored eight points for the Wolves (9-14) in an FVC crossover win.
