


A-H’s Stauss stars on Senior NightHEBRON – Alden-Hebron’s Carissa Stauss decided early on that she was not going to let the Giants lose the last home basketball game of her high school career. Stauss scored 24 points to lead the Giants past Luther North, 39-31, in a Northeastern Athletic Conference game Thursday. A-H coach Tim Hovanec said Stauss, a senior, was geared up for Senior Night. “[Stauss] was ready to play this morning,” Hovanec said. “She decided to put [the team] on her shoulders and carry them.” Sam Beck, the team’s other senior, led the Giants (10-14 overall, 2-5 NAC) with nine steals.
BOYS BASKETBALL Harvard 46, Genoa-Kingston 30: At Harvard, Matt Smith scored 18 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Hornets (5-18, 2-4) to a Big Northern Conference East Division win. Dylan Witt added eight points and 10 rebounds. • Rob Smith contributed to this report. |
