WOODSTOCK– Despite giving up forfeits at four weight classes, the Woodstock wrestling team earned its first Fox Valley Conference win of the season with a 43-36 win over Johnsburg.
Alan Hafer (160) and Ryan Plourde (170) started the meet with back-to-back pins for the Blue Streaks. Tom Rodriguez (132) added another fall for Woodstock and Nick Sundberg won a 8-0 major decision.
Branden Peshek (120) and Brian McKay (126) had back-to-back falls for the Skyhawks.
Cary-Grove 58, Prairie Ridge 18: At Cary, the Trojans got four pins in their FVC Fox win.
Michael Underwood (138), James Smrt (145), Greer Bozeman (195) and Nick Huff (220) all had falls for Cary-Grove, with Patrick O’Malley (182) adding a 12-4 major decision.
Chase Rea (152) and Aaron Senholtz (132) had falls for the Wolves.
McHenry 48, Huntley 15: At Huntley, the Warriors had two sets of back-to-back pins in their FVC Valley win.
Cam Pait (160) and Pat Roewer (170) had the first pair of pins, and Luis Hernandez (220) and Angel Hernandez (285) had the second.
Brandon Mabry (195) had a fall for the Red Raiders, with Matt Blain (182), John Walker (138) and Zach Stenger (113) adding wins by decision.
Dundee-Crown 36, Jacobs 24: At Carpentersville, Diamond Flynn (106), Martell Thompson (138) and Timothy Schanmier (160) all had pins for the Chargers in their FVC Valley win.
Cody Ferencz (126) and Carson Shoemaker (195) had falls for the Golden Eagles.
Richmond-Burton 65, Harvard 38: At Harvard, three Rockets scored in double figures in their Big Northern Conference East Division win.
Sam Boettjer led R-B (11-8, 6-2) with 17 points, Abby Straight had 16 and Alex Callanan added 13.
Abby Linhart led the Hornets (4-16, 1-5) with 12 points, including three 3-pointers, and Sam McCloud added 10.
Grayslake North 2,886, Huntley 2,370: At Grayslake, Amy Antzack led the Red Raiders with a 543 series and Aimee Jenchel added a high game of 196.
Woodstock co-op 77, McHenry 61: At Woodstock, Adam Steinken won the 100-yard freestyle (50.43) and 100 breaststroke (1:05.76) for Woodstock in an FVC dual.
Kevin Braun won the 50 (23.34) and 500 (5:07.83) freestyles for the Warriors.
