Fiedorowicz, Popenfoose top list of signees
Johnsburg's C.J. Fiedorowicz and Huntley's Marcus Popenfoose are two of the area's most notable athletes who signed their NCAA national letters of intent Wednesday, the first day of the signing period for football, cross country, soccer and track and field athletes.
Fiedorowicz, the Northwest Herald Football Player of the Year, signed with Iowa. Popenfoose, the Northwest Herald Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year, signed with Auburn, where he will throw the shot put and discus.

Woodstock's Mike Liedtke fulfilled his graduation requirements early and enrolled at Western Michigan, where he will play on scholarship. Since Liedtke's enrolled, he does not sign an NLI.
