Three no-no’s in one night

Have you ever heard that ol’ sayin’ that things, both good and bad, come in threes?

That was the case Monday night, when CL Community’s Connor Sadzeck, The Burg’s Mitch Noncek and The Shire’s Shane Hernandez all tossed no-hitters.

The Tigers beat Grayslake New, 1-0, with Sadzeck striking out 14 and walkin’ one. Noncek struck out seven and walked none for the Skyhawks in a 10-0 win against Woodstock New in five innings. Hernandez, a freshman, threw a six-innin’, three-strikeout no-hitter in a 10-0 win against Rockford Christian.

Not to be outdone, The Grove’s Kevin Weber struck out 11 batters from a good-hittin’ Huntley team in just five innings. Weber improved his record to 6-0 as Michael Devoe picked up the save for the Trojans.

That win moved the Trojans into a second-place tie with the Red Raiders, one game behind the Mac Town Warriors.
