Prairie Ridge will move back up in class for 2010-11

Prairie Ridge's stint as a Class 2A and 3A team in some sports was short-lived as the IHSA announced its enrollment classifications for the 2010-11 school year.

Prairie Ridge had an enrollment of 1,703 for the 2009-10 school year, which dropped the Wolves to Class 2A in those sports with three classes, and into Class 3A for those with four classes. Prairie Ridge will be in Classes 3A and 4A for the next school year, which is where it previously was.

The IHSA's three-class sports are cross country, wrestling and track and field. Those sports with four classes are volleyball, boys and girls basketball, baseball and softball.

Prairie Ridge was the only area school on the IHSA's list which will change classifications for next year. Richmond-Burton officials thought their school may drop to Class 1A (three classes) and 2A (four), but the Rockets will remain where they were.
