Just a little more than two weeks until Friday Night Lights return, but yer ol’ buddy Rant is practically jumpin’ outta his skin already.

Wednesday was the first day for prep football practice, and there were a lot of players gettin’ to know some new coaches out there. From what Rant hears, Huntley seemed pretty focused in their first go-round with new coach Matt Gehrig. The Raiders have a two-year playoff streak they’re tryin’ to defend.

Rant's kinda wondering about something ... will the teams from schools that start classes on Monday suffer because they can't run two-a-day practices for as long as some of their competitors? Best guess is, maybe in the early goin', but by Week 2 or 3, it oughta even out, right?
