Let the games begin
Here we go!
The Rant has gotta give it up for the Tigers after they handed the defendin’ state champion Trojans a 27-6 loss Friday night.
Sure, the Trojans had to fill a lot of holes after graduation, but it’s a huge win for CL Community no matter how you look at it.
Runnin’ back Gage Harrah and that offensive line did a number on C-G, as Harrah ran wild for four TDs. It made The Rant wish he had Harrah on his fantasy team.
Looks like the Trojans have some work to do, but should get better as the season moves on. The Rant is wonderin’ how they are goin’ to handle startin’ 0-2 after they lose to Lake Zurich next week.
That is the first time the Tigers have beaten the Trojans since Week 6 of the 1995 season and only the second regular-season loss for C-G since 2004.
No big surprise that South crushed Grant or that Marian spanked North Chicago. The Rant expected R-B to roll over Oregon and for The Ridge to dominate Woodstock Old, and they did.
Looks like the rumors might be true that Grayslake Old is an improved team after beatin’ The Burg.
Grayslake New beat Woodstock New, but the Thunder scored 15 points after only gettin’ 20 all of last year.
Harvard pulls off what has to be considered an upset as they beat last season’s Wisconsin state champs Big Foot 15-7. Hampshire had another tough start with a loss to St. Edward after startin’ 0-3 the last two seasons.
In the “What the Heck’s Goin’ On?” category, Huntley lost to Wauconda, Dundee-Crown lost to Elgin and McHenry lost to Larkin. The Rant expected more out of these three teams in Week 1, not a good way to start the season.
