CL Central moves into No. 7 spot in Class 6A

For the first time in a very long time, Crystal Lake Central has cracked the state football rankings.

The Tigers defeated Class 6A defending state champion Cary-Grove, 27-6, in the season opener and jumped from the teams receiving votes to No. 7 in The Associated Press Class 6A poll. C-G fell from No. 2 to a tie for No. 10.

Crystal Lake South remained in the No. 6 spot in Class 7A, Marian Central is No. 9 in Class 5A and Richmond-Burton is No. 7 in Class 4A.
