Real division races start now in hoops
Now that all of the tournaments are behind us it's time to figure out which teams are gonna win their respective divisions.
The Rant has demolished all of the holiday sweets and put away the decorations for another year. That means it's time to get into division play in boys and girls hoops.
The Rant is sure that there will be upsets along the way but right now the favorites are Huntley in the Valley and CL Community in the Fox. Of course Grayslake Old and Hampshire may have something to say about that in the Fox. The Rant thinks for some reason that only Dundee-Crown will challenge Huntley in the Valley but has been proven wrong before.
It looks like Richmond-Burton and Marengo each have a real good shot at the BNC East. The Rant is hopin' one of them can take the crown.
Marian Central and Alden-Hebron look to have a hard road to winnin' a title in their respective conferences.

On the girls side, The Grove still has to be the favorite in the Valley but are probably not quite as good as in a few of the past seasons. The Valley has a lot of good teams playin' in it and several of them could pull out the title if they stay close and win the big games when needed.
The Rant thinks Dundee-Crown is in good shape to challenge C-G with excellent guard play. The Ridge, McHenry and Huntley all could make a run.
In the Fox, it is hard for The Rant to see any other than a Grayslake team winnin' the title but ya never know.
The Rant is lookin' forward to a good battle between Marengo and Richmond-Burton in the BNC East and hopes one of them can win it all.
Marian Central will have a hard time winning the SCC Blue and the same for Alden-Hebron in the NAC.
