Everything seems to be coming together for Richmond-Burton, with their 28-0 shutout of Burlington Central on Friday as proof. Seven games into a season in which the Rockets (5-3 overall, 3-1 BNC East) brought in 19 new starters, R-B took down the former leader of the East Division in impression fashion.
Coach Pat Elder credited the defense, which had three sacks and allowed only 184 total yards, and the offensive line, which blocked for 341 Rockets rushings yards, with phenomenal blocking on both sides of the ball. In their last three games the Rockets have outscored their opponents, 90-6.
With the win, R-B's shot at a fifth-straight BNC East Division title remain alive. They get a shot at unbeaten North Boone (6-0, 4-0) next week, and host Harvard (3-2, 2-2) to end the regular season.
