Woodstock's Jordan Turner "real close" on making college choice

As Jordan Turner's final regular season winds down, the Woodstock senior guard is drawing closer to deciding where he will continue his basketball season next year.

Turner tweeted Tuesday night that he hopes to make a final decision in the next two weeks. Among the finalists: Division III Illinois Wesleyan and North Central, both which compete in the College Conference of Illinois Wisconsin.

Both Wesleyan and North Central are ranked in top five in this week's D-3 national polls, coming in at No. 3 and No. 5 respectively.

Turner got a first-hand look at both teams Tuesday night when North Central knocked off Wesleyan, 87-83 in overtime.

"North Central tops Wesleyan in OT in an exciting game!," Turner tweeted. "Gonna try to make a decision in the next 2 weeks. Glad I could make it out tonight!

Turner said in a text message Wednesday morning that he is waiting on the financial packages from both schools, which technically can't offer athletic scholarships. Turner said the schools can come up with other grants, though, to help cover the costs of his education.

Also in the running is D-1 Air Force although Turner said there is only a small chance he'll land in Colorado Springs.
