Gymnastics

SCHAUMBURG – Prairie Ridge senior gymnast Nikki Novak has an idea what practices will be like in the upcoming week.
Prairie Ridge’s gymnastics team more or less reached the end of an era last year when Jenny Covers graduated.
The bygone year saw a lot of “firsts” in McHenry County athletics. There were first state champions for schools around the area, record-setting performances, and some athletes who proved they were not only the best in the area, but best in the entire state.
The Rant can hardly remember such a great weekend for our local prep athletes.
PALATINE – Jenny Covers went out with a bang, even if it was without another gold medal.
Local high school sports fans have witnessed some amazing performers over the past five years.
PALATINE – Jenny Covers solidified her spot in state history Friday night, whether she realized it or not.
Jenny Covers’ goal is pretty basic – go 4 for 4.
LINCOLNSHIRE – Prairie Ridge senior Jenny Covers knew she had performed well at the IHSA Stevenson Girls Gymnastics Sectional on Monday night, but she didn’t realize how well until she was told her score.
LAKE FOREST – Prairie Ridge’s Jenny Covers and Nikki Novak turned in some of their best performances Saturday to advance from the IHSA Carmel Regional Girls Gymnastics Meet at Lake Forest High School.
